AIMS OF THE SOCIETY

"To undertake practical research into the archaeology of Thanet, support local professional archaeologists in excavations and post-excavation activities, generally foster and promote interest in local history by means of public lectures, public displays and school activities."

Meet the Archaeologists Day

We welcome Society members from anywhere, but our current membership is mainly from the Isle of Thanet and the rest of Kent. Those members who cannot get involved in our local activites join so as to support us financially, and to keep in touch with what's going on in local archaeology through our members' bulletin and the newsletter Earthworm. You can download it for free upon joining the society - only £17.50 per annum. It's issued three times a year, with up to fourteen pages. Gordon would like contributions and letters to the Earthworm via the IOTAS mailbox, mail@iotas.org.uk.
